I want to be... (a poem for the Prophet saws)
by Tessneem Shahbandar I want to be that spider, who protected Sayyidina Muhammad in the cave
And I want to be that lucky soil that covered up his grave
I want to be that stump he stood on so many times to speak
And I want to be those birds who caught a glimpse of him and lowered their beaks
I want to be the camel, Qaswa', on which he always rode
Or a donkey which carried his load
I want to be the sand he sat on when he prayed
And I want to be the straw mat on which he layed
I want to be with him Jenna
I want to be his friend
So I'll keep trying to do good things
'Cause that's what I intend
